Structural Surevy

If you’re buying a property, own a home, or notice structural damage, a structural survey is essential. Laytoe Structures offers tailored structural surveys with different levels of inspection to meet your needs.

General Structural Inspection (GSI)

A General Structural Inspection (GSI) involves a thorough evaluation of a property's overall condition through visual inspections. This includes identifying severe cracks, subsidence, and movements, as well as assessing the impact of nearby trees and shrubs on foundations per NHBC guidelines.

COMPREHENSIVE GENERAL STRUCTURAL INSPECTION (CGSI)

In addition to the areas inspected in a GSI, this inspection includes a visual assessment of the roof structures, cellar, and outbuildings. A CGSI does not limit the number of cracks inspected, and we will also visually evaluate all internal alterations and report on any previous alterations to the property’s structures.

Specific Structural Inspection (SSI)

A Specific Structural Inspection (SSI) focuses on investigating a single structural issue or crack within a property. Unlike a GSI, an SSI is limited to one specific area, providing a targeted examination of a particular concern. This type of inspection addresses localised problems.

Crack Monitoring

Global warming, the presence of shrinkable soil, nearby vegetation, and drainage issues can all contribute to structural movement and the formation of cracks in your property. These factors often cause buildings to shift over time, leading to visible damage that can compromise the integrity of your structure.

At Laytoe Structures, we offer professional crack monitoring services to assess whether these movements are ongoing. Our expert team uses advanced techniques to accurately monitor and evaluate any structural changes, providing you with detailed reports and recommendations to ensure the safety and stability of your property.
